NYX The Runway Collection eyeshadow

Tell me again and again, how could I resist the low prices of these NYX stuffs?
Well, I admit that I bought this palette without thinking much. All because of the low price, I knew that I have to buy at least one of it. Ohhh.. That's a really dangerous thinking.
Anyway, after much consideration.. I picked this color, Strike A Pose.

My personal thought of this:

Color collection - I could say that I'm pretty satisfied with the color collections in this palette. I am already thinking of the colors to mix and match with. =)

Texture - Alright, this one here is a little tricky. I tried 3 different ways of applying the eyeshadow and all 3 ways gave me different results! I was really surprised. At first, I tried swatching them with my bare fingers. With only one swipe, I couldn't get the pigmentation that I wanted. The swatches above were swiped in an up down, up and down manner. As for when I use the eyeshadow brush to apply the eyeshadows, to my horror, the colors just didn't show up. I was pretty upset at that time. I thought that might because the texture of the eyeshadow are a little more powdery and chalky (especially the lilac, black and white color) compared to the quality of their single eyeshadow. The 3rd way, I finally make use of the eyeshadow sponge applicator that came with the palette. Now, this one picked up the colors well and gave a pigmented finish on the lids. How surprising huh?

Lasting power - I don't experienced any bad creasing without a primer but I'm sure that they don't crease at all providing the lids were applied with eyeshadow primer beforehand eg. UDPP or TFSI. 

Price - I bought this at $3 only. I think I can consider that as cheap?

Will repurchase? - I don't know if I would give another chance for some other colors from this range again because honestly speaking, I was a little disappointed with the inconsistency of the quality of some eyeshadows that appeared to be too powderish/ chalky.

NYX Megashine Lipgloss

I got this NYX Megashine Lipgloss in Smokey Look in my recent NYX haul (to be exact, last year). This particular lipgloss has got alot of great reviews especially from the US counterpart but I was hesistating to get this because I'm not really a lipgloss person. I really hate the sticky and greasy after feeling on the lips. And also, I get really irritated if my hair sticks on it too.. >.<

But after getting to know from a friend, who is also a beauty blogger from Taiwan bought this and raved about it, I thought of giving it a try to. And she asked me to trust her that this is not so sticky like any other lipgloss.

So, this one here, is pretty special as I really think that it is not sticky at all. My lips didn't feel "heavy" too and I just love to reapply it over and over again. I think I went crazy too when I just put it on randomly when I was chilling in my own room. Haha

Why Smokey Look? First impression, I thought it was a darker shade of lipgloss, but after seeing the color and wearing it, I think I get it. It's the perfect shade for a smokey look, or to be paired up with smokey eyes.

I've tried this look myself and I really think it's a great color. The gloss applied on top of Nude lipsticks is just the perfect match. However, one thing though... I find the smell to be a little too strong for my liking. It smells kinda like cough syrup tho.. :/ Anyway, the smell didn't really lingers that long for me to hate it. Hehs.

Megashine Lipgloss is a more expensive line from the normal Round Lipgloss. I think it's retailing at $5 online, http://www.cherryculture.com/, http://www.nyxcosmetics.com/. It's a little expensive but fret not, they always have discount/ SALES. :D

NYX single eyeshadow

The famous NYX single eyeshadow! Finally in my hands now. :D
The first 2 colors I'll be experimenting will be Matte Black and Golden Bronze.
I simply couldn't agree more with all the reviews in Makeupalley.com about these little gems.

Overall, the texture of the eyeshadow is seriously soft and very smooth to blend with. Color wise - very pigmented and just perfect. Price wise - cheap. Conclusion - you have to have it. At least one of those. Haha.

Black - it's matte and a true black. This is the blackest black eyeshadow I've seen. And very soft and smooth upon application too. Most of my black eyeshadows didn't turned out as black as I want or they were all really hard to be applied on. This one works great as an eyeliner too. Great for making smokey eyes too!

Golden Bronze - this is slightly shimmery and it's the "old gold" color that I've been looking for for so long. All along I've bought all the wrong gold. This one gives the right antique gold color which isn't too yellow nor too sparkly.

NYX lippies

Iris, Margarita, Tea Rose and Snow White

Iris - this is a very beautiful peachy nude color with a little hint of shimmer. I picked this over Circe as I think Circe would make me look really pale and sick. This one here just looks perfect. =)

Margarita - mixture of warm pink and peach. Not too bright and not too dark. Just perfect for Asian's skintone I guess. This has a hint of shimmer too and I somehow feel that the application of it is not as smooth as other NYX lipstick tho...

Tea Rose - my first impression of this is Eww.. the color is so pale.. but after awhile.. i'm loving it more than anything else. =) This color is just amazing and surprisingly enough, the texture is ever so smoother than any of other NYX lippie. I think this suits for everyday use also and very versatile.

Snow White - OOh... I chose to have this color coz I think I have to have at least one Really RED lipstick. Hahahha.. Actually, I don't really wear dark color lipsticks and I normally go for lighter shades or nudes. But this one here captured my heart as it's really the bloody red color. Just like Blair's red lips. Haha!

This is my second purchase of NYX lipsticks and no doubt, I think I'm gonna get more colors hahaha.. They are just so cheap but with very high quality. It's a steal!

NYX haul

Do you consider yourself lucky when you managed to grab stuffs when it's on sales, especially sales till like 50% and above?

I do feel a little lucky, but yeah I know that's a lil dumb. :S

But wth, I am so happy when I see the stuffs from the mail! *all smiles*

I got them all during the NYX Grand 50% SALES via CherryCulture.com, via Mandy dear. NYX is a foreign cosmetic brand here, but these are very good quality stuffs that people normally take them as dupes for MAC. There are just so cheap and nice and make you feel simply.... lucky & happy. :D

I think I managed to control myself though.. didn't really buy alot this time.
(Black Label lipstick for $3, Round lipstick $1 each, Pearl mania (pigments) $1 each, lipgloss $2)
total all together not more than RM100 i think.

quality wise, seriously, don't ever waste $$ on Loreal, Maybeline, Revlon, etc anymore. These are way cheaper and better and i really do think that these are on par with high-end products.

Lippies - Black Label (Nude), Round Lipstick (Milan), Round Lipstick (Femme)
Texture is soft,smooth, and color is very pigmented. Quite long lasting and moisturizing too.

Wearing Nude alone makes me looked a little pale, but after applying a coat of lipgloss on top, i kinda get the catwalk nude lips look. Haha.
As for Milan, this is not really the color that I wanted tho, this color looks a little different and darker than the swatch from the internet. This is like a dark mauve on me although other people described it as the perfect warm pink tone. Buying online sucks when this happens. Hmm..
Femme on my lips is like a flaming red with orange tone. Not too bad although I don't really wear red lipcolor. I'm still searching for the best Coral color lippie.

Milan on my lips. I actually just dabbed it on to stain my lips instead of applying it on so the color will not be too intense. I think the color is not so bad tho. :D

The Ultra Pearl Manias - Nude, Mink, Walnut, Charcoal, Turquoise, Lilac (I actually ordered more, but all were out of stock)

Other than the NYX stuffs, I also bought the highly raved Urban Decay Primer Potion (UDPP). No, this is under the same spree. Bought this from another friend in LYN who just got back from the US. Got it at a pretty decent price, RM70. Don't really think we have Urban Decays here.
